Lester concedes but says he'll be back
With over 900 first preference votes, according to tallies, first time general election candidate Lester Gordon has ruled out his chances of being elected this time out.
However the Finea man has already began his campaign for the next general election.
“You wouldn't have to be a rocket scientist to know that the show is over for me,” he describes, looking at the tally results.
“I just feel the people aren’t ready for me yet, they are not hurt enough,” he says.
“Give them another year or definitely the next general election,” he adds.
“They’ll see me again and I’ll be better organised the next time,” Lester pledges, adding that he is going to invest in more advertising and start a YouTube channel.
“I’m going to try again.”
He describes this year as an opportunity for “getting known” in Monaghan and “the rest of Cavan.”
“I’m just going to keep at it.”
“I’m not happy with the way the country is running and something has to be done soon or we’re in big trouble.
“I’m determined to keep fighting on and helping people."
“I’m not complaining, I'm always happy and that’s it.”
“There’s a sick agenda and there needs to be something done with it to get this world right again. I’m not so much worried about myself but for my children and grandchildren to come we really need to get this world back in shape.”
