Man bailed in connection with €16k drug bust

A Bulgarian man has been charged following the discovery of €16,000 worth of drugs in Ballyjamesduff.

Gardaí seized suspected MDMA, cannabis and amphetamine during a raid on a property in the town last week.

A shed at the property was searched and more than 1,000 ecstasy tablets; 158 grams of cannabis; 93 grams of amphetamine; 52 grams of cannabis resin; and other drugs paraphernalia were seized.

Plamen Valkov (45) with an address at Claudia, Ballyjamesduff, was brought before Judge Stephaine Goggins last Thursday charged with two counts of possession of drugs for the purposes of sale or supply and also common possession.

Mr Valkov was remanded on €1,000 bail to appear at Cavan District Court on May 8, 2025.
