Death and bereavement notices

It is with regret that we note the following deaths from County Monaghan, as reported on RIP.ie over the past few days. None were reported from County Cavan over the period.

Jim Mallon

22 Drumherney Rd Carnagh, Keady, Armagh, BT603AT / Monaghan Town, Monaghan

Mallon (Carnagh, Co Armagh) Nov 6th 2024 peacefully at home Jim RIP Dearly beloved husband of Mardie and loving father to Gerard and Jim.Cherished brother of the late Mary, Lizzie and Cecilia RIP. His remains will repose at his late residence 22 Drumherney Rd., Carnagh BT603AT from this evening (Thursday) until removal on Saturday to arrive at St Mochua's Church, Derrynoose for 11am requiem mass. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife, sons, daughter in law Eileen and Jim's partner Paula, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers Peter and Pat, sisters Peggy, Rose and Ann, nieces, nephews and the entire family circle and many friends.

On his soul sweet Jesus have mercy.

Due to the narrow road and potential parking issues we would ask wake attendees to approach from the Crossnenagh Rd where stewards will be available to assist parking/provide a shuttle service

Gretta McArdle

(née Duffy)

Pinner, Middlesex, London / Magheracloone, Carrickmacross, Monaghan

McArdle, Gretta (née Duffy) 10th June 1924 - 18th October 2024 - Pinner, London and formerly of Magheracloone, Co. Monaghan.

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our dearly loved mother Gretta on 18th October 2024 aged 100. Predeceased by her beloved husband Michael, their dear daughter Jane, parents Owen and Rose Anne, sisters Bridie, Kathleen and Julia, sister-in-law Martha, brothers-in-law Jimmy, Paddy and Cathal.

She will be forever remembered lovingly by her children Ken, Jill and Justin, son-in-law Steve, daughters-in-law Shirley and Sara, brother Hugh, sisters Eileen, Teresa and Róisín, brother-in-law Don, grandchildren Alison, Joe, Paul, Cameron, Chloe, Christa, Fergal and their partners, great-grandchildren Jude, Gabriel, Isla, Zara and Emmy, nephews, nieces and many close friends.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Reposing in Bradley & Jones, Funeral Directors, 7 Love Lane, Pinner, Middlesex HA5 3EE on Sunday, 17th November 2024 from 2pm to 4pm - contact the family for access code.

Requiem Mass will be held at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, Love Lane, Pinner, Middlesex HA5 3EX on Monday, 18th November 2024 at 11am, followed by interment at Pinner New Cemetery, 660 Pinner Road, Pinner, HA5 5RH.
