Locations of speed safety cameras on N3 announced

Cameras will become operational on Friday, October 25.

The Average Safety Camera systems in place on the N5 and N3, will become operational on Friday, October 25, 2024 following a formal announcement by the Minister for Justice, Helen McEntee and Garda Commissioner, Drew Harris.

Average Safety Cameras have been installed between Kilduff and BIllis while cameras have also been installed between Lislackagh and Cuilmore in Swinford, Co Mayo. Gardaí say that vehicles detected driving in excess of the 100km/h posted speed limit will be subject to prosecution from 12 midnight on Friday, October 25.

Prosecution of speeding offences will take place by Fixed Charge Notice. The current fine is €160 fine accompanied by three penalty points. Further details of the Fixed Charge Notice system are published on www.garda.ie
