Drumlinia gains recognition from top names in music industry
Drumlinia Music Industry Week kicked off with a sold-out show by Daniel O’Donnell in the Cavan Cathedral last night.
The event runs until October 27 with concerts, master classes on TV presentation, production/ sound engineering, guitar, song writing and much more and abundant opportunity for singers to have their voices heard.
One such opportunity is The Listening Rooms on October 26, which is a series of spaces dedicated to singer/songwriters to play a 20-minute set to audiences at various venues set across the county town from 11am to 4pm that day.
Orgainsed by Don Mescall , who has appeared on Marty Whelan’s morning spot on Lyric FM, and later on Virgin Media’s Six O’Clock Show, the festival has garnered international fame.
On a reel posted to their social media, Drumlinia Music Industry Week has been recognised by Spice Girls band member Geri Halliwell-Horner, renowned for her role as ‘Ginger Spice’ in the band.
Geri wished all at The Listening Rooms music trail “the best of luck.”
“You’ll be amazing, much love,” she said.
Westlife band member Nicky Byrne also wished participants well.
The Dublin singer, songwriter and presenter said he heard “some incredible things” about the festival.
“I want to take this opportunity to wish all of the singer songwriters the very best of luck in the Listening Room Hall and of course in The Listening Room Concert.”
“Go knock them dead, be brilliant,” he encouraged.
“It’s all kicking off in the town hall on the 26th [of October] the very best of luck,” he said.
