Swim in Pink at Annagh Lake drew a great crowd to Annagh Lake last year for Cuan Cancer to mark Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Swim in Pink at Annagh Lake

A Swim in Pink event, to help raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research during October, breast cancer awareness month, will take place in Cavan this coming weekend.

Dozens will take the plunge at Annagh Lake on Saturday, October 13, from 12 noon, with registration available on www.swiminpink.ie

A collection alternatively will be held on the day in aid of the popular local cancer support charity, Cuan Cancer Care.

This is the third year Swim in Pink has taken place in Ireland, with a growing number of dips, splashes and swims being organised nationwide.

Last year, the event helped raise over €100,000 to fund continued breast cancer research. Already, this year it has raised more than €85,000.

Registration is just €25 with all of the monies raised going to the National Breast Cancer Research Institute.

Locally, Francine Reilly from Belturbet, a member of the Annagh Lake Dippers, is hosting a Swim in Pink, with donations for ‘Francine’s Swim in Pink Fundraiser’ made via her idonate.ie page.
