The forecast is for a mainly dry weekend but some scattered showers are likely.

Today, Saturday will be dry across Cavan and Monaghan with patches of mist and fog at first. These will clear with sunny spells developing for the rest of the day. Highest temperatures of 17 or 18 degrees with light to moderate northeasterly breezes.

While tonight is expected to remain dry, scattered showers will develop in the east and south of Ulster and a few of those will possibly be heavy. There will be patches of mist and fog in places also. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees with light to moderate northeast breezes.

Meanwhile, tomorrow, Sunday will be mostly dry. Any mist or fog will clear and sunny spells are expected to develop. Towards evening, showery rain may affect parts of south Monaghan. Highest temperatures of 17 to 19 degrees with moderate northeasterly breezes.
