INMO trolley watch: 429 patients waiting for beds in Irish hospitals

The latest figures from the Irish Midwives and Nurses Organisation (INMO) show there are 429 people waiting for beds in hospitals across the country.

Some 322 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 107 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.

The hospital with the highest number of patients waiting for a bed is University Hospital Limerick, with 80 people on trolleys.

35 people are in the emergency department, while 45 people are elsewhere in the hospital.

Cork University Hospital has 61 people waiting for a bed, with 52 patients in the emergency department.

At University Hospital Galway, there are 32 people on trolleys, with 29 patients in the emergency department.
