Gardaí investigating theft of agri machinery

Gardaí are investigating a theft in the Scotshouse area of a red-coloured HAWK PTO tractor power washer with 100ft pipe reel.

The theft occurred between July 25-26, and gardaí say the washer is “easily identified” as the rear legs are bent inwards.

It is the latest theft of agricultural equipment in the local area after a Herbst 12/13 tonne trailer was taken from Deredis, Butlersbridge, between 3.30-4.30pm on July 19.

Gardaí say the trailer was last seen possibly being pulled by a black and blue coloured Ford/New Holland on the Inishmore Road.

In relation to both incidents gardaí are appealing to the public for assistance, asking anyone who may have sighted the stolen property, or have dashcam footage or CCTV footage which may be of assistance, to contact them.

A spokesperson issued a word of advice to farmers: “We would also ask that you ensure any valuable equipment is stored securely and report any suspicious activity to Gardai immediately. Close and lock any access gates. Please ensure your CCTV cameras are clean and operating properly.”
