Former museum curator Holly Roche.

Curator departs Cavan County Museum

An interim curator will be announced in 'due course'

The appointment of an interim curator at the County Museum will be announced in “due course”, a council spokesperson confirmed, after the announcement that Holly Roche has departed the role.

The change was formally announced last week. Ms Roche took up the post in 2022, following the retirement of Savina Donohoe.

The Crosserlough native had been curator of Cavan County Museum in Ballyjamesduff since 2015, and acting curator since 2008.

Before taking up the role Ms Roche had worked for more than a decade as House and Collections Manager with the National Trust in Fermanagh

In a statement to the Anglo-Celt, a spokesperson for Cavan County Council, which manages the running of the museum, said: “Holly Roche has departed Cavan County Council to explore new opportunities. We wish her well in her future endeavours and thank her for her efforts. The appointment of an interim curator will be announced in due course.”
