‘Unresolved’ odour issue being examined at Drumalee
Officials at Uisce Éireann are trying to determine the “root cause” of an “intermittent odour” issue plaguing residents and businesses in the Drumalee Cross area of Cavan Town.
Problems regarding the pungent smell were first highlighted to Uisce Éireann, formerly Irish Water, last month.
The authority says they are “currently investigating” and have as a result “commenced sampling” in the immediate area.
A spokesperson for Uisce Éireann confirmed in a statement to The Anglo-Celt: “We are currently investigating the source of the intermittent odour issues and have commenced sampling to determine the root cause. If the issue remains unresolved, we encourage customers to contact us directly.”
The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on 1800-278-278.
