Twenty more houses proposed for Swellan
Cavan County Council is considering a planning application for 20 new housing units at Swellan Upper on the outskirts of the county town.
Latt Properties Ltd wants to build 16 three-bedroom, two-storey units; two two-bedroom, two-storey units and two two-bed, one-storey houses with and without attic accommodation.
The plans also provide for the use of an existing entrance to the site and the provision of new footpaths to link with the existing public paths.
It's proposed to create landscaped communal open spaces as part of the development, which also is seeking to connect to public services and for permission for all ancillary and associated site developments including a boundary wall, fencing and gateway.
Last year Latt Properties Ltd submitted plans for a proposed development at Creighan; and, in 2018, the firm was given the green light to construct 36 houses at the Gallops.
The same company also successfully applied to demolish an existing dwelling and construct four semi-detached bungalows at Swellan Lower in 2016.
A decision on the latest application is due on or before August 8.
