Hat-trick hero Kiernan caps off season in style

Bailieborough's Leanne Kiernan's rich vein of form continued when she scored a hat-trick as Liverpool FC Women sealed a fourth-placed finish for 2023-24 with a 4-0 victory over Leicester City earlier to day.

Kiernan starred during the second half with three well-taken goals.

The result ensured they held fourth spot, her club’s highest finish since 2017.

Kiernan netted win the 66th minutes within minutes of being sent on from the bench by manager Matt Beard.

The Irish international first pounced on a long pass, beating the final defender and firing through the grasp of Leicester's goalkeeper.

The 25 year old striker then capped off her hat-trick four minutes into stoppage time, planting a shot into the bottom corner after running through.

Leanne finishes the season with 14 appearances, five goals and two assists in all competitions.
