Leona carries good form forward

Cavan's Leona Maguire has continued her good form at the T-Mobile Match Play in Las Vegas by defeating rival Moriya Jutanugarn to advance to the semi-final.

The Ballyconnell golfer beat the Thai Jutanugarn 4&3 with some brilliant approach play despite the windy conditions.

In the opening rounds of matchplay before switching to singles on Saturday Leona holed four birdies to card a round of three-under-par 69 on Friday.

It left her at six-under 210 for the tournament at Shadow Creek Golf Course.
