Fourth night added for Knockbride Variety Show
The 13th Knockbride Variety Show is set to be the biggest and best yet when the curtain opens in the coming weeks.
Through the dedication of the Knockbride cast, crew and committee - both past and present - an extra night has been added for the ever popular show.
For the first time, the group is running for four nights, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, March 20-23. Since the group's first show in 2009, all profits have been donated to worthwhile causes. This year Bailieborough Cancer Comfort and LauraLynn Children’s Hospice are the selected charities. Bailieborough Cancer Comfort are an incredible organization making a real difference in the Knockbride area. They provide a car service to bring patients to and from hospital for appointments, x-rays, scans and other forms of cancer treatment. This service is confidential and free of charge to cancer patients. Meanwhile, LauraLynn is the country’s only Children’s Hospice providing palliative and hospice care and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families from all across Ireland. Care can be availed of in their specialised hospice in Dublin, at hospital, in the community, or in the family home, depending on the location and medical needs of the child and the family’s preference.
“Tunnyduff Community Hall caters for 300 people and we are expecting a sell-out show each night so be sure to come early to secure your seat. It’s four great nights of music, comedy and dance with a live band and we want to thank our cast and crew who have been rehearsing since early January to ensure that this year’s show is a resounding success.
“This year we have welcomed back our usual cast and have added some new members to both our comedy and music teams. It has been great to see the excitement and enjoyment of our cast and the eagerness to perform on stage.
“We cannot express our appreciation enough for all those who have supported the show by attending as well as the businesses and individuals who have donated in any way.
“Once again this year we will have a screen displaying advertisements for local businesses and are delighted to have The Bridge Tavern Bar and Restaurant, Canningstown, as main sponsors this year.
As ever, we are grateful for all those who volunteer their time over the four nights to help out with the running of the show. This year’s show is sure to be one for the books.”
Doors open at 8pm each night with the show beginning at 8.30pm. Admission is €15 for adults and €5 for children (u12).
