Cavan Autotrac stocks parts for all tractors

Cavan Autotrac offers its customers the highest quality products available on the market and claims to provide the best prices to be found anywhere in Cavan and beyond. The company specialises in sourcing and supplying tractors, agricultural equipment, cars, jeeps and vans. It’s the main dealer for Zetor tractors, Schaffer loaders and Isuzu commercial vehicles and includes a wide selection of new products in stock.

The business was given a new lease of life last year by Richard and James Pratt when the pair rebranded the business. They set up a website that showcased the parts for all makes and models of tractors that have come back onto the market. Second hand tractors, jeeps and cars imported from the UK are also form the core business at Cavan Autotrac.

“There’s no right answer for every single customer and we are based in the midlands where there are part-time farmers who may not be investing as much capital in their enterprise as the bigger farmers and so we are trying to stock good quality, competitively priced machines for them,” says James.

“We spotted a niche in the market for tractor parts and that side of the business is going very well for us.”

The local businessman went on to point out that Cavan Autotrac now stocks parts, filters, etc that can be used on tractors from the Massey Ferguson 35 right up to the state of the art 2024 machines.

“We try to have the parts there so that when farmers run into difficulty, our business will get them up and going again,” added James.

“Often, it’s the simple things. Like lift arms on the back of the tractor and we have new drop links and level boxes for a range of tractors. Parts are coming back into fashion and they are affordable. Farmers want the best value for money and as a business we have to try and be competitive.”

Meanwhile, Cavan Autotrac will have a trade stand at this year’s Spring Farm Machinery Show at Cavan Equestrian Centre. “It will be hard for us to showcase all the products that we have in stock at the show but we want people to drop into us, have a look at what we have and provide answers to any questions they have,” continued James.

“We want people to know that you can now buy parts for a 60 year-old tractor if you need them.”
