Eddie O'Reilly

Corner House, Main Street, Virginia, Cavan

The death has occurred of Eddie O'Reilly, Corner House, Main Street, Virginia, Co. Cavan, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, in his 94th year.

Predeceased by his parents Michael and Elizabeth, his brothers Mattie, Eugene, Brendan, Fr. Aidan and Paddy and his sister Sadie.

Much loved husband of Phyllis and cherished father of Margaret and Michael and beloved Grandad of Gary, Arlene, Aoife, Diarmuid and Cormac.

Sadly missed by his wife, his son and daughter, son in law Breen, daughter in law Martina, his sister Angela (Kieran), brother in law, sister in law, nieces, nephews, relatives, customers and friends.

Rest In Peace

Reposing in Matthews Funeral Home, Bailieborough Road, Virginia (A82YV58) on Monday evening from 5 o'clock until prayers at 8 o'clock.

Removal from his home on Tuesday morning, arriving for 11 o'clock Funeral Mass in Mary Immaculate Church Virginia, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Eddie’s Funeral Mass may be viewed on the link below.

Hugh Finnegan

Kennellyduff, Carrickmacross, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Hugh Finnegan. Kennellyduff, Carrickmacross. 27th April 2025. Peacefully, surrounded by his cherished family, in the wonderful care of the management and staff of Kilmainhamwood Nursing home.

Predeceased by his parents John & Susan, his brother Fr Tom and his brother-in-law Jack Monaghan.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by his beloved family; his sister Mary Monaghan, his brother Fr John PE, Arney, his nephews John, Paul & Colm and his nieces Susan & Jacinta, his much-loved grandnephews & grandnieces, his extended family, friends & neighbours.

MAY HE REST IN PEACE.

Hugh will repose at Lonergan Funeral Directors Funeral Home, Carrickmacross, A81 D328, on Monday, 28th April, from 5pm until 7pm and at his home, Kennellyduff, A81 YF89, on Tuesday, 29th April, from 2pm until 5pm.

Hugh's funeral cortège will leave his home on Tuesday evening, proceeding to St. Enda's Church, Killanny, arriving for Prayers of Reception at 7pm.

Hugh's Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, 30th April, at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining Cemetery.

Nancy McCluskey

(née McKenna)

54 Main Street, Emyvale, Monaghan

Nancy passed away peacefully on Saturday 26th April, surrounded by the love of her family and friends and the wonderful care team at Mullinahinch House.

Nancy is predeceased by her parents Minnie and Johnny, her sisters Moira (Coady) and Bridie (Sherlock) and her brothers Benny and Seán.

Beloved wife of the late Patsy, Nancy will be missed greatly by Jim, Patricia, Edna, Anne, Brenda, Siobhán and Mary. A loving grandmother to Eoin, Jack, Dervla, Michael, Maisie, Alex, Holly, Cara, Grace, Ben, Megan, Tara, Seb, Zoe and Eve and great-granny to little Sonny. Mother-in-law to Liam, Roger, Gerard, Harry and Martin.

Nancy is survived by her sisters Cissie, Roisín, and Susan (Gorman) and her brothers Eamonn and Pat, sister-in-law Veronica and brother-in-law Denis. She will be deeply missed by her extended family, neighbours and her many great friends and carers who offered such kindness and support to Nancy over the years.

Her story will be told through the lives that she touched.

You are welcome to pay your respects at her home on Monday, 28th April 2025 from 2pm to 8pm. House private at all other times please.

Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, 29th April 2025. Removal from her home at 10.30am to St. Patrick’s Church, Corracrin for 11am Requiem Mass, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to St Vincent de Paul c/o Donagh Parish Office.
