It is with regret that we note the following deaths from Counties Cavan and Monaghan over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie.
Michael (Mick) Kane
Manorhamilton, Leitrim / Ballinagh, Cavan
Michael (Mick) Kane Manorhamilton Co Leitrim and formerly Cashel Ballinagh /Moynehall Cavan. Peacefully passed away at Sligo University Hospital on the 23rd of April 2025. Predeceased by his parents Phil and Edna and his sister Margaret. Sadly missed by his sons Gary (Sinead), Sean (Connie) and their mother Jo, grandchildren Caoimhe and James, sisters Sandra, Sharon, Susan and brothers Sean and Andrew, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan H12RF78 on Saturday 26th April from 5.00pm until 7.00pm. A private service for Michael will take place in Lakelands Funeral Home, followed by cremation.

Kate Jane O' Reilly
Corodoagh, Tunnyduff, Bailieborough, Cavan
The death has occurred of Kate Jane O' Reilly, Corodoagh, Tunnyduff, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan. Died Friday 25th April 2025, peacefully in the care of the staff Cavan General Hospital. Recently predeceased by her brother Eugene, parents, brothers Pat and Benny and her sister Marion.
Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her nephews Jim, Gene, Vincent, Declan and her niece Annamarie, grand nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Rest In Peace
Removal Saturday evening 26th April 2025, arriving at St.Brigid's Church, Knockbride West at 8.30pm. Funeral Mass Sunday Morning at 11am followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Funeral cortege will travel via Corodoagh.
Eugene Matthews
Carrickasedge, Carrickmacross, Monaghan
The death has occurred of Eugene Matthews. Carrickasedge, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan. 24th April, 2025. Peacefully, surrounded by his cherished family, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.
Predeceased by his parents Micheal & Catherine, his grandson Ashton, his brother Joe and recently by his sister Kathleen McKevitt.
Sadly missed and remembered with love by his beloved family; his loving wife Mary, his cherished family; Martin (Fiona), Sharon (Diarmuid), Tanya (Andrew), John (Leanne) & Raymond (Kirsty), his much loved grandchildren; Cailín, Aidan, Dylan, Jaymee-Rose, Saoirse, Inis, Ceol, Fáinne, Abhainn, Alannah, Caelan, Croíadh & Éala and his brothers Tommy and Noel, his sisters Maureen Gainford and Patricia Duffy and his extended family, friends and neighbours.

Eugene will repose at the home of his son Martin & daughter in law Fiona, A81XF80, on Saturday 26th April, from 3pm until 8pm, and Sunday 27th April, from 3pm until 8pm.
House private at all other times please.
Eugene's Funeral cortège will leave Martin & Fiona's home on Monday, 28th April, proceeding on foot to St. Patrick's Church, Rockchapel, Upper Magheracloone, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Philomena Mc Carville, 4 Céide Mhic Chlamha, Clones, Co.Monaghan, and formerly of Gortgarvan, Newtownbuttler, Co. Fermanagh, Friday 25th April, 2025, peacefully in Cavan General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Predeceased by her husband Michael and her parents Margaret and Thomas Mc Caffrey.
Philomena will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her siblings, Margaret, Ann, Susan, Frank, Sarah, Jimmy and John, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends, neighbours and by all who knew and loved Philomena.
May Philomena's Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.
Philomena will repose at Martin's Family Room, Newbliss, H18C962 on Sunday (27th) evening from 5pm to 9pm. Philomena's funeral will take place on Monday (28th) in St Mary's Church, Ture at 11am. Burial afterwards in adjoining Cemetery.
