The death has occurred of Albert Raymond Byers, Lisacopple, Termon, Virginia, Co. Cavan. Peacefully at The Mater Hospital, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday 23rd April 2025. Dearly beloved husband of Elizabeth and loving Father of Caroline (Willie) Alan (Andrena) and David (Naomi).
Precious Papa of Kyla (Stephen) Bryce, Amy, Josh and Nicole, Sammy, Lillie, Matilda and Jack, Brother of Frances (Fred), the late Sammy and Ethel, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and neighbours.
Resting at Mathews Funeral Home, Bailieborough Rd., Virginia, (A82 YV58) on Friday 25rh April from 6pm until 8pm. Funeral Service in Billis Parish Church on Sunday 27th April at 2pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard. Family flowers only please, donations if so desired to Billis Parish Church Repair Fund, care of Freddie Kettyle, undertaker or any family member.

James (Jim) Doherty, Kilmore, Ballyjamesduff, Co.Cavan and formerly Wexford Town, Thursday April 24th 2025, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Jim will be very sadly missed by his loving wife Mairead, his devoted son Justin, daughter in law Michelle, cousins, sisters in law, brother in law, nephews, nieces, all his relatives and many friends.

Reposing at the Mc Mahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd, Cavan (H12C821) on Saturday evening from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral Mass on Sunday at 1pm in St.Brigid's Church, Killygarry followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

Hughie Fitzpatrick, Drumhose, Kill, Cootehill, Co. Cavan Thursday April 24th 2025 peacefully in the loving care of his family and staff in College View Nursing home Cavan.
Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Susan Fitzpatrick, brother John-Patrick. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his brother Kevin (Mary), sister Moira (Jim), nieces Annemarie (Hugh), Aisling (Pearse), grandnieces and grandnephew, Emily, Aodhán and Alanna, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Mullen’s Funeral Home Cootehill (H16 FD25) this Friday evening from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock. Removal leaving Mullen’s Funeral Home on Saturday morning at 9.30am to arrive at St Brigid’s Church Kill via Corravoggy to arrive for 10 o’clock funeral mass. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
Family flowers only please and donations if desired to The Residents comfort fund, College View Nursing Home c/o Mullens Funeral Directors or any family member.

Michael (Mick) Kane Manorhamilton Co Leitrim Formerly Cashel Ballinagh /Moynehall Cavan. Peacefully passed away at Sligo University Hospital on the 23rd of April 2025. Predeceased by his parents Phil and Edna and his sister Margaret. Sadly missed by his sons Gary(Sinead), Sean(Connie) and their mother Jo, grandchildren Caoimhe and James, sisters Sandra, Sharon ,Susan and brothers Sean and Andrew, Sisters in law and brothers in law, nieces and nephews.
Private Cremation will take place at a later date.

The death has occurred of Marie Sheils, Sallaghan, Lough Gowna, Co. Cavan at Virginia HSE Residential Centre. Predeceased by her parents James and Bridget, her brothers Philip and John and her sister in law Carmel. Sadly missed by her brothers T.P. and Seamus, sister Nell, brother in law and sister in law, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Marie will repose at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan (H12RF78) on Fri 25th April from 5pm to 6.30pm with removal afterwards to The Church Of The Holy Family, Lough Gowna (H12FT54) for 7.30pm.
Her funeral Mass will take place on Sat 26th April at 12pm followed by her burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Tommy (Thomas John) Meegan
Drumboat upper, Inniskeen, Monaghan / Inniskeen, Louth
The death has occurred of Tommy (Thomas John) Meegan of Drumboat Upper, Inniskeen, Co. Monaghan. Tommy passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday 23rd April 2025 after an illness bravely borne.
Dear son of the late Mary Ellen and James. Beloved husband of Kitty (Catherine). Much loved father of Niall and Emma Jane. Sadly missed father-in-law of Ricky. Adored grandfather of Thomas James, Emilia, Seán and Conor and predeceased by granddaughter Lily Ann, brother Petie, sisters Rose McArdle, Molly McGinnity, Anna Quigley and Bella Jones. Lovingly remembered by his sister Teresa McEnteggart, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at his residence on Friday 25th of April from 11am until 8pm. Removal from residence at 10.30am Saturday 26th of April arriving for 11am Requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Mother of Mercy, Inniskeen. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Inniskeen.
