James (Jim) Birney
3 Glenvale, Cavan Rd, Cootehill, Cavan / Stradone, Cavan
James (Jim) Birney, 3 Glenvale, Cavan Rd., Cootehill, Co. Cavan, and formerly of Lisatavin, Stradone, peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff and his family at College View Nursing Home, Cavan on Tuesday 15th April 2025 on his 75th birthday.
Predeceased by his parents William and Martha. He will be sadly missed by his children David, Elizabeth, Rachel and their mother Winnie, and their partners and grandchildren, his sister Gwen (Michael) Omagh, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Resting at Mullens Funeral Home, Cootehill on Wednesday evening 16th April from 5pm till 7pm.
Funeral Service in Larah Parish Church on Thursday 17th April at 2pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard.

Alex Moran , Farnadolly, Cavan, Wednesday April 16th 2025, peacefully in the loving care of his family and the staff at Esker Lodge Nursing Home, Cavan.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Sylvia.
Alex will be very sadly missed and dearly loved by his heartbroken children, Glen (Bríd), Paul (Niamh) and Claire (Paul), his adored grandchildren Elijah, Jacob, Senan, Aoibhinn, Cathal, Ryan and Harry, his twin sister Katherine (David) , brothers Jimmy (Ann) and David (Lynda), nephews, all his extended family, great neighbours and many wonderful friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at the Mc Mahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd, Cavan (H12C821) on Monday evening from 6pm until 8pm. Alex's remains will leave the Funeral Home on Tuesday morning at 10.30am and will travel to St.Patrick's Church Drumcor, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11 o'clock. Burial will take place afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to the Alzheimer’s society via their website or donation box in the Funeral Home .
John Robert Samuel Hamill
Killynenagh, Drum, Monaghan
The death has occurred of John Hamill, Killynenagh, Drum, Co Monaghan. Passed away peacefully on the 16th of April 2025 surrounded by his loving family, in the wonderful care of his daughter and son-in-laws home.
Predeceased by his wife Susan (Sue) Hamill, sisters Jean and Doreen.
John will be sadly missed and fondly remembered with love by his loving family, his son Jimmy (Denise), daughter Fiona (Pat Coleman), cherished grandchildren Grace, Rebekah, Hannah and Bryan, great-grandsons, sister Edith Dixon (England) brother-in-law Henry Hall, sister-in-law Essie Gillespie, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours and many friends.
