Helicopter called to help West Cavan fire fight
Multiple fire crews called to action.
A helicopter was drafted in to supply as water drop as multiple fire crews were called into deal with a blaze in the hills above Ballyconnell yesterday (Thursday) evening.
Fire crews from CN17 Ballyconnell, CN18 Belturbet and Killeshandra Fire Service CN19, assisted by a helicopter water drop, battled gorse fires for several hours on above Snugborough, on Doon mountain.
Fire crews also dealt with another fire on lands west of Bawnboy near Glan Gap earlier in the day, and were required to return and apply effort to suppress it again later that night.
