WHAT: A folk history in over 500 pages of Counties Longford, Leitrim and Cavan by Benny Reid, already in local shops. It will be launched by Irish Times journalist Kathy Sheridan who has deep roots in North Longford. A further send off by Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Niamh Smyth T.D. takes place in Moyne Community School on Friday, April 11 at 5.30pm. All are welcome. WHAT: Celebrate bird song and the wildlife by joining us for a leisurely nature walk around the lake. Learn about the migratory song birds that come here each year to breed and hopefully hear them in song on the day! All welcome to this event and it will last for one hour approximately.

Glangevlin booklet launch

WHAT: A new edition of a small booklet entitled ‘Night Prayers' collected in Glangevlin’ which was published in 1921 to raise funds for the Gaeltacht college in Glan, and which has been re-edited with a new introduction by Dr Nollaig Ó Muraíle (University of Galway). Launch by Monsignor Liam Kelly (PP Kildallan). Music and refreshments served, all welcome. There is no charge for the book.
