Cross Bar relisted for sale

A landmark country pub, restaurant and shop, has been relisted for sale.

The Cross Bar and Restaurant at Clondergan, Stradone, was listed for sale back in 2023, and again towards the end of last year.

The guide price for the property was previously advertised circa €675,000.

One of the county’s best-known establishments, The Cross property comprises a bar, lounge, restaurant, function room, a three-bedroom home, convenience store with post office, workshop, and office unit. It has been owned by the Brady family since 1947, and was originally an old thatched building, only for this to be demolished and redeveloped. A restaurant was added in 2020.

The business is currently operated by well-known local businessman Laurence Brady.

The property is offered for sale by private treaty through Charles Clerkin Auctioneer & Valuer, 087 2538 666.

Well maintained

It is being presented to the market in “turn-key condition”, enjoying a traditional style fit-out and “requiring little capital expenditure” having been extremely well maintained by the current proprietor.

“Externally the substantial site extends to almost one acre with extensive parking areas to the sides.

“To the rear of the property a well presented beer garden and patio area. An excellent and very unique business opportunity to operate a renowned busy multifaceted establishment.”
