Belated Christmas gift for SOSAD

In-house design and marketing company Fil180.com was behind the initative to design and sell bespoke Christmas cards.
Phil Partridge is a creative design consultant for the Cavan-based company. Last year, he collaborated with suicide prevention and awarness charity in designing the cards as part of a fundraiser.
“We’ve done marketing work for SOSAD before,” he said.
“I had personal experience with a friend of mine, which led me into the introduction to SOSAD, so that was how we started to get associated.”
Phil designed some limited edition Christmas cards.
“They were designed by ourselves, so you couldn’t buy them in shops, or retail. You could only buy them though the SOSAD branches,” he said.
“They’re basically fantasy themed, so you’ve got unicorns, you’ve got angels, you’ve got cherubs. All that kind of thing.”
Sales of the cards were promoted at Christmas fairs through a company called Holistic Fairs Ireland.
"They offered us a free stand to promote the cards on and we promoted them from December right the way through to the very first week of January. I was amazed at how successful they were.”
The response that Phil and his company got was very positive.
“Everybody was extremely charming and very complimentary about the cards. They went very well.”
Christine Wynne, who is the manager of the Cavan branch of SOSAD, was most impressed with the cards and the fundraiser.
“The design of the cards was charming and unique and we are so grateful for the large number of cards that were bought by everyone.”
Given it success to date, Phil hopes to continue the fundraiser over the next few years.
“We’ll do another range [cards] again next October/November time, and then we run that by the members of the board of SOSAD to make sure they are happy with the designs.”
