The Blindboy podcast takes place Sunday, May 18, with tickets €32 + fees and available from the Townhall website.

Blindboy's Arts fest show sells out

Having sold out venues worldwide from Toronto to London's Hammersmith Apollo, Blindboy Boatclub has now packed out Cavan Townhall for his show at the upcoming Cavan Arts Festival.

Often with a surprise guest in tow, Blindboy's live shows follow the Irish tradition of the Seanchaí, seamlessly intertwining topics of history, fiction, culture, mental health and politics.

Ready to launch

It is one of several announcements made last weekend in respect of the increasingly popular local festival (May 15-18), with Soft Launch, supported by Cavan's own Dirty Marmalade, set to cap their Irish tour with an intimate headline show at the Townhall theatre on Friday, May 16 (€20).

The five-piece, composed of Josh McClorey, Conor Price, Benedict Quinn, Henry Pearce, and Ben Limmer, made their debut last year with the single 'Cartwheels'.

Since then, they've released several more singles including 'Piano Hands', 'In My Bed', and 'Milkshakes'.

Their latest track 'Dinosaur' came out in February.

Along with Cavan, the Soft Launch Irish tour takes them to Dublin's The Workman’s Club, to Mike the Pies in Listowel, Dolan's of Limerick, Cork and Galway.

Dirty Marmalade- Donny Mc Avenue (Lil’ Phynott) and Emil Kapusta (Mildly Fool!sh)- meanwhile are without doubt one of the most original music acts to come from the Breffni county in years.

In February the band released ‘Król Markus II’, the second single from their debut album, 'Hills of Breifne', set for release this May.
