It is with regret that we note the following deaths from County Monaghan over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

James ‘Jay’ Christie
‘Grove Lodge’, Corracrin, Emyvale, Monaghan / Raheny, Dublin
The death has occurred of James 'Jay' Christy, 'Grove Lodge', Corracrin, Emyvale, Co.Monaghan and formerly Raheny, Dublin. Wednesday 26th March peacefully at Cavan General Hospital.
Pre-deceased by his parents Maurice & Angela Christie. James will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Catherine Sherry, daughter Shannon, son James, Stepsons Christopher & Francis, granddaughters Kayleigh, Robyn & Stevie, grandson Seamus, sister Marie, extended family and friends.
May James' gentle soul Rest in Peace.
James' remains will repose at McMahon's Funeral Home, Emyvale, H18 FK80 on Thursday from 5pm - 8pm and Friday from 5pm - 8pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday morning at 10am at St.Patrick's Church, Corracrin. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

John Connolly
Cloniston, Clones, Monaghan, H23 AE97
The death has occurred of John Connolly, Cloniston, Clones, Co. Monaghan, Tuesday 25th March 2025, suddenly, unexpectedly and peacefully in the Mater Hospital, Dublin, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Willie and Cassie and his father-in-law Jimmy.
Much loved husband of Celine and adored father of Lorraine (William Carey, Rochfortbridge) and Mark (Lorraine). John will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife, daughter, son, son-in-law, cherished grandchildren, Kate, Ava-Jane, Liam Óg and James, sisters, Mary and Catherine and Mary's husband Brendan Devlin, and their daughters, Caroline and Alison, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, GAA family, work colleagues, neighbours, wide circle of friends and by all who knew and loved John.
May John's Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.
John will resting at the family home, Cloniston, Clones, (H23 AE97) Wednesday 26th from 6pm to 9pm, and again Thursday, 27th from 3pm to 9pm with removal on Friday morning, 28th March, at 11.45 arriving to St Alphonsus Church, Connons for 12.30pm Funeral Mass followed by Cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 3.30pm.
House private to family and close friends on Friday morning Please.
Please note there will be a shuttle bus in operation parking at either the Connons Church, (H23 EH04) or Agnew Sawmill, (H14 DX98)
