Gardaí spot motorbike 'speeding' through Mullagh

The bike was stolen from a house in Co Wicklow last September

Gardaí on patrol in Mullagh this week observed a motorbike driving at "excessive speed" through the town while travelling in a 50kmh zone.

The bike then did a U-turn in sight of Garda before the driver was stopped and detained. Gardaí discovered the bike was secured with false plates and was stolen from a house in Blessington in Co Wicklow in September 2023.

When gardaí investigated the matter further they also discovered the driver was disqualified and the bike was neither insured or taxed at the time of the offence. The driver has since been charged and will appear in court accordingly.
