New courses available at CMETB

A range of new apprenticeships and courses are due to be rolled out within CMETB.

The local education and training board has received approval to go to the design stage for a new refrigeration and air conditioning apprenticeship; while the delivery of year one of the social care degree is planned to commence in Cavan Institute this September.

Also, new spa and tiling traineeships will be rolled out.

The February meeting of the CMETB heard that recruitment is underway for positions in a new Peace Plus Project, a cross-border EU programme aimed at strengthening peace and reconciliation and cross-border cooperation between Ireland and Northern Ireland.

In line with Adult Learners Festival, which commenced this week and finishes on Friday, there is a range of taster sessions and courses available at their campuses.

Alternative pathways

The CEMTB also aims to develop alternative pathways for learners with new blended learning provisions, providing opportunities for staff to learning the Irish language, AI learning ETB pilot programmes and additional adult education programmes.
