Eva’s an Irish world champion dancer
Local girl Eva Pilipaviciute was crowned World Champion in the Under 13 girls Irish Dancing Championship recently and brought the top prize home to Bailieborough.
She competed among more than 150 dancers from all over Ireland, the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Europe, Asia and South Africa to qualify for the event itself.
Eva is the first ever Lithuanian Irish Dancing world champion and is also the only ever dancer from a Bailieborough Irish dancing school to win the Grand Slam; she won every qualifying event in the run up to the World Championships having previously won the All-Ireland, Ulster and Irish National competitions.
She attends the Bailieborough dancing school Ni Chearra – O Baolain and attends class at The Old Courthouse every Thursday
Classes are taught by former World Champions and Riverdance stars with all abilities catered for – whether it is for fun and exercise, dancers aspiring to take grade examinations or those who wish to compete.
