Council approves draft corporate plan

Members of Cavan County Council have approved the draft version of the local authority's Corporate Plan 2024-2029.

The plan serves as the council’s strategic framework for action for the next five years - the lifetime of the current council term.

Thanking elected members for supporting the process, Chief Executive Eoin Doyle told them at their February monthly meeting that the Corporate Plan is an “important document” in many respects.

“It lists out the vision and mission statement and strategic objectives of the local authority over the next five years,” he explained.

He also said that it sets out the context from which annual reports will be published.

Mr Doyle concluded by thanking staff member Angela Fitzpatrick for her efforts, noting that the Department for Local Government has since asked that she work with them to showcase the “quality of work” being done locally.
