AONTAS Adult Learners Festival
The AONTAS Adult Learners Festival is set to return in 2025, running from Monday, March 3 to Friday, March 7, bringing a wave of excitement to promote adult learning nationwide. This annual festival, dedicated to celebrating adult and community education, and make learning accessible to everyone, will feature a myriad of events taking place across the country.
Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB) is thrilled to be part of this celebration, offering a wide variety of free taster classes across counties Cavan and Monaghan. These sessions provide a fantastic opportunity for individuals to explore new interests and embrace the spirit of lifelong learning.
Throughout the week, CMETB’s Adult Education Service will offer a number of free sessions including gardening, historical walks, smartphone workshops, cooking, meditation, skincare, and more. There will also be opportunities to meet with the CMETB Guidance and Information team, who can support adults considering a return to education or training.
This year’s theme is ‘Connecting Communities’, showcasing how adult and community education serves as a bridge that connects communities across Ireland. In challenging times, adult and community education has the power to transform lives. It offers a path forward for us all, uniting people through education and helping to change lives for the better.
To close the festival, CMETB’s ‘The Journey Podcast’ will host a coffee morning at Monaghan Institute on Friday morning from 10am – 1pm. At the event, podcast hosts Martin and Eddie will talk to current students about their progression through education.
Join us in embracing the thrill of discovering something new this March!
