Cavan Autoparc wins dealership EV award
Cavan Autoparc has been named Cavan winners of the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland’s (SEAI) Electric Vehicle Dealership Awards.
The good news doesn’t stop there, however, as the local Ford dealership has also scooped the regional prize, coming out tops for all of Ulster. It will now be among those honoured at a Gala Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) dinner to take place in Dublin tomorrow (Thursday), February 20.
A national winner will be selected from the four regional finalists, which will take place on March 26 at the SEAI Energy Show, Ireland’s leading business to business energy event, at Dublin’s RDS.
Car dealerships are a vital part of the transition to clean and efficient transport.
Cavan Autoparc Ltd has been in business for almost two decades and the team there was an early adopter in delivering a comprehensive range of state-of-the-art vehicles thus contributing to Ireland’s Climate Action Plan and the transition to EVs.
Out of the four years since the awards first began (2022), this is the third time the local dealership has been recognised and rewarded for excellence in the promotion and sale of EVs in the county but the first they’ve lifted a regional prize.
Sales Director at Cavan Autoparc, Enda Crowe, says he and the rest of the dedicated team couldn’t be more proud.
“It’s great to get a recognition,” says Enda, who says that Ford has upped its game further for 2025 by offering an even more comprehensive range of EVs to its loyal customers.
Enda says there are few, if any, other car brands on the market at present capable of matching Ford’s extensive electric range both on price and spec.
The new Ford Capri hit Irish roads for the first time since 1986, and Enda says the return is already a hit with car enthusiasts.
The entry-level Select model comes with a 52kWh battery pack and 170hp electric motor, and standard equipment includes 19-inch alloy wheels, LED exterior lighting, heated front seats, keyless entry and start, rear-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, and a 14.6-inch touchscreen.
“It’s definitely turned a few heads,” he says, before pointing to the rugged looking Explorer five-door electric SUV.
Well equipped and boasting a better electric range than many rivals in its class, it comes in two trim levels, Select and Premium.
There are several hybrid petrol models available to view on the Autoparc showroom floor - the all new Ford ST Line (also diesel automatic), Kuga, and the ever popular Puma.
Boost in commercials
But where Enda has seen the biggest upswing in business, by as much as 20 per cent in some cases, is in the sale of commercial vehicles.
Ford’s commercial range is practically unrivalled, with the Transit range and Ranger being the top or among the top selling light commercial vehicles (LCV) for the last number of years in Ireland.
“It’s not even close,” remarks Enda, who says the ‘251’ sales event has driven interest in Courier, Connect, Custom, Transit 350 and the Ranger “through the roof”.
“Commercials for us are flying out the door. Ford is number one in Ireland for commercial sales. They’re very, very good and really, the range they have to offer, has just been improving year on year. The new model Connect is after arriving, the new model Courier is after arriving, and you have a special finance rate of 5.5% APR on those as well.”
Selling well too is the Ford Ranger Wildtrak, and this has been helped by the brand’s three-year warranty offer on all commercial vehicles, up to 160,000 kilometres.
“It definitely sets them apart,” says Enda. “It’s hard bet. On the cars then, all have a five-year/100,000 warranty, and they’ll have a 6.15% APR on Hire Purchase, and the PCP is at 3.9% APR which is good, very good.”
