Male charged after Valentine's night assault

The male (17) is expected to appear before Monaghan District Court this morning.

Gardaí are continuing to investigate all of the circumstances around an assault in Cavan town on Valentines night.

A man aged in his 20's has sustained "serious injuries" according to gardaí.

A male (17 years) arrested in connection with the investigation, has since been charged.

He is expected to appear before Monaghan District Court this morning, Monday February 17, at approximately 10.30am.

Investigations are ongoing.
