St Aidan’s Colour Fun Run – hailed a massive success!
St Aidan’s have swollen their coffers for new gym equipment after a hugely successful Colour Fun Run.
This was St Aidan’s second such event and the 450 participating students raised just over €7,000. A portion of proceeds raised will go towards completing the school gym.
However, the success of the day went well beyond the funds raised as School Principal Owen Lennon lauded it as “an incredible day of fun”. “Huge congratulations to all the students who participated in our vibrant colour run,” enthused Principal Lennon. “Thanks to your energy and enthusiasm, we raised much-needed funds for new gym equipment, making sure our school’s fitness facilities are better than ever.”
He was grateful to the TY students took the lead role in organising this event which was blessed by unseasonably good weather on January 17.
“A massive shoutout to the Future Leaders Team, the Active School’s Team, the Transition Year Students, and their dedicated Transition Year Tutors and Year Head and finally Mr. Farrell for planning the route. Your leadership and hard work made this event a huge success.
“A special thank you to the Sports Department for your continued support and for keeping the energy high throughout the event. And last but definitely not least, a big thank you to the student bands who played on the day. Your performances brought an extra spark of excitement and energy to the event.
“We are so proud of how our school community came together to make this event such a success.”
