Margaret Daly

(née Curley)

23 Yew Park, Virginia, Cavan

Margaret Daly (nee Curley), 23 Yew Park, Virginia, Co. Cavan and formerly of Sandyhills, Rush, Co. Dublin. February 9th 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband David.

Margaret will be sadly missed by her daughters Robina & Joanne, son Jake, son in-law Eric, sister in-law Lesley, her adoring grandchildren Alex, Aaron and Elora, relatives and friends.

May Her Gentle Soul Rest In Peace

Margaret will be reposing at her residence (A82 XW73) this Tuesday evening from 5pm to 8pm.

House will be private at all other times.

Funeral mass will be on Wednesday morning at 11am in Mary Immaculate Church, Virginia with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Teresa Doyle Gorry

Drumcondra, Dublin / Belturbet, Cavan

Doyle Gorry, Teresa (née O’Reilly) (Drumcondra, Dublin and formerly of Belturbet, Co. Cavan) February 8th 2025, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Ignatius Gorry and adored mother of Sean and Brendan. Sadly missed by her sons, her brothers Sean and Felim and her sister Veronica. Predeceased by her brothers, Patrick, Michael, Eamon and Noel and by her sisters, Peggy, Betty and Deenagh. Teresa worked as a nurse for many years in St James Hospital and will be missed by her many colleagues who worked with her.

Reposing in Lanigans Funeral Home, 21 Beaumont Road on Tuesday 11th February from 2pm to 4pm. Removal on Wednesday morning 12th February to St. Vincent de Paul Church, Marino arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Churchyard Cemetery, Staghall, Co. Cavan, Arriving at approx. 1pm. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired to The Irish Cancer Society.

Michael Gaffney

Knockahista, Cavan Town, Cavan

The death has taken place of Michael Gaffney, Knockahista, Cavan, Monday, February 10th, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the wonderful care of the staff of Cavan General Hospital. Beloved husband of Teresa and dear father of Martin, (Alice), AnnaMarie, Micheal (Hilary), Kieran (Paula), Catrina, Louise (Kevin), Paula (Derek), Colin (Iseult) and Aileen (Stephen), his 18 adored grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, brother Sean (Oldcastle), brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan on Wednesday evening from 6.00pm until 9.00pm. Removal from his home on Thursday morning at 11.30am to St Matthew's Church, Drumavaddy, to arrive for Requiem Mass at 12.00 noon, interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to Vision Ireland, care of Declan Finnegan Funeral Directors or through donations box.

Brian Keogan

Killatain, Carrickaboy, Cavan

Brian Keogan, Killatain, Carrickaboy, Co Cavan. Sunday February 9th peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the wonderful care of the staff of College View Nursing Home, Cavan. Much loved husband of Eilish and dear father of Brian, Steven, David and Kevin. Pre-deceased by his parents Seamus and Ellie. Sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughters-in-law Mary and Lorna, his adored grandchildren Ethan and Aaron, brothers Jimmy, Sean, Eamon, Michael and Declan, sister Mary brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces relatives and many friends.

Reposing in Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan on Tuesday evening from 5.00pm until 8.00pm. Removal on Wednesday morning to arrive at St Matthew's Church, Crosskeys, for Requiem Mass at 12.00 noon interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

The death has occurred of Michael (Mickey) Duffy, 7 Belgium Square, Monaghan Town, Monday 10th February, peacefully surrounded by his loving family in Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Dot.

Michael will be forever loved by his son Michael, and his grandchildren, his brothers Aidan, Patsy, his sisters Teresa, Vera, and Dearly. Michael will repose at Clerkins Funeral Home, Monaghan Town, (H18YF22) on Tuesday (11th) from 5pm until 8pm. Michael's funeral procession will arrive to Lakelands Crematorium in Cavan on Wednesday morning at 11am for a private cremation ceremony.

The death has occurred of Hugh Shannon, Lurganboy, Scotshouse, Co. Monaghan, Saturday, 8th February 2025, suddenly and unexpectedly at home. Predeceased by his much loved wife Rosaleen, and his parents James and Theresa Shannon.

Hugh will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his children, Cíara (Ciarán Galligan, Drung), Lorraine, Edward (Denise, Scotshouse), Stephen, Adrienne, Collette (Colin McCaughey, Clones), Marie (Paul Donaghy, Dundalk), Andrew (Becky, Newbliss), his cherished and adored grandchildren, Lauren, Ryan, James, Tiarnán, Eamonn, Killian, Kate, Michael, Sarah, Abbey, Shay, James, Jake, Callum and Brianna, sisters, Rose (Patsy Carroll), Mary (Patsy Reilly) and Eileen (Gerry Gormley), brother, Peter (Bernie), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends, neighbours and by all who knew and loved Hugh.

Hugh will be resting at the family home Lurganboy, Scotshouse, Co. Monaghan, H23 DP63 on Tuesday and Wednesday evening from 4pm to 9pm. Hugh's Funeral procession will leave the family home on Thursday morning 13th at approx 10.15am to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Scotshouse, for 11am Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
