Cloudy with possible sunshine today

Weather update from Met Éireann.

Today will be mostly dry and rather cloudy though limited bright or sunny spells may occur.

There will be a little light rain or drizzle in places before more persistent rain develops in the west of the province in the afternoon, slowly spreading east. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees with fresh and gusty southerly winds developing, strong near western coasts.

Tonight will be wet and breezy at first with rain bringing some spot flooding, clearing to scattered showers in the west of the province by morning.

Fresh and gusty southerly winds will ease mostly light to moderate from the west through the night.

Tomorrow the rain will clear eastwards through the morning with sunshine and scattered showers following.

Some of the showers will be of hail or sleet. Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees with moderate, occasionally fresh southwest or west winds.
