An Irish powerlifter has made her debut on 'Gladiators' on the BBC.

Lystus Ebosele - from Enniscorthy in Co Wexford - was unveiled on Saturday night's show. She is the sister of Irish soccer player Festy Ebosele who is currently on loan at Watford.

Nicknamed 'Cyclone', she's been described as "a whirlwind of destruction", whose "awesome power will blow you away".

She made a post on Instagram last week confirming the news saying "Secret’s finally out, I am so excited to finally be able to share this with you all, I’m joining Gladiators as Cyclone! 🌪️

"A storm is brewing…."

Speaking on the iconic BBC One reboot over the weekend, she shared her thoughts on taking part in the show: "For me being a Gladiator is all about being able to show women and girls a like that they can take up space. They can do it loud and do it proud and be unapologetic when they do it."
