Community hubs open up around county
Hubs offer cosy space to get warm drinks and charge phones
As the Storm Éowyn clean-up continues, Cavan County Council is working with local partners through the Cavan Community Forum to put in place local community hubs where those affected by power cuts and water outages can come and avail of facilities such as charging, heat, and tea/coffee.
The following community hubs are available to the public from 10am on Monday morning, January 27 for members of the public to come in and get a cup of tea or coffee, charge phones, or just avail of the heating!
- Ballinagh Community Centre
- Kingspan Breffni, Cavan Town
- Bailieborough Business Centre
- Kingscourt Community Centre
- Virginia Show Centre
- Market House, Blacklion
- Goods Store Community Centre, Belturbet Railway Station, H14 E276
- Tomregan Parish Hall
- Killeshandra Resource Centre
- Tullacmongan Resource Centre, Cavan Town
- Kilian's Lodge, Mullagh

Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council, Cllr TP O'Reilly hailed the community spirit of the people of Cavan in dealing with this historic storm, saying, "I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the phenomenal response from the community across the county in the face of this unprecedented disruption to basic services and the needs of our citizens".
