Thousands homes, farms and businesses remain without power following Storm Éowyn
Worst affected areas until later next week and even next week.
ESB Networks is mobilising all available resources to restore power to thouands of homes, farms and businesses across Cavan as soon as possible.
Already power has been restored to 308,000 customers throughout Ireland and intensive work will continue over the weekend.
In Cavan power is not expected back in the worst affected areas until later next week and even next week.
In Shankill, where there are 2,589 customers affected, power won't be restored until 9pm Moday week (February 2).
Near Cornafean (Killeshandra) where there is a blackout for 34 customers, the estimated restore time January 28.
Near Virginia, 690 customers are without power until January 28; and in four areas around Bailieborough Town will be restored between tomorrow (January 26) and January 29.
Some areas in Ballyconnell, the estimated return to power time is still currently until whereas others are January 28-19.
It is expected that full restoration will take more than a week in the worst impacted areas. Estimated restoration times will be provided as network faults are assessed and these will be available to view at www.PowerCheck.ie.
ESB Networks is part of a mutual association called NEWSAC (North, East, West, South Area Consortium) which is composed of all of the electricity companies in Ireland and the UK. These companies provide mutual aid to support each other in the aftermath of storms. While we are very conscious that other electricity Network companies are facing challenges as result of this storm, a formal request has been submitted to NEWSAC for support crews to aid restoration.
