Eamon (Thomas) Mc Cormack

Eamon (Thomas) Mc Cormack, late of 22 Tullacmongan, Cavan Town, Monday January 20th 2025, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his son Thomas, daughter Mandy, parents Maisie and Tommy, sisters Mary, Margaret, Ann and Jackie, brothers Paddy and Jimmy. Eamon will be very sadly missed by his daughters Jamie and Megan, his adored grandsons Alan and Theo, brothers Gerry and Michael, sisters Eileen, Kathleen, Bernie, Meala and Janet, sister in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, all his relatives and many friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at the Mc Mahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd, Cavan (H12C821) tomorrow evening Tuesday from 6pm until 8pm. Removal from the Funeral Home on Wednesday morning to the Cathedral of S.s Patrick and Felim, Cavan, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Following mass the cortege will travel to St. Mathews New Cemetery, Drumavaddy for committal prayers and burial. Eamon's Funeral mass can be viewed live on the parish webcam here.

Sean Rapple

Kilynaher, Belturbet, Cavan

Sean Rapple, Kilynaher, Belurbet, Co. Cavan, Monday 20th January 2025, peacefully in the loving care of his family and excellent staff of Castlemanor Nursing Home. Predeceased by his parents John and Bridie, brother Cecil and sister Bridie. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family, wife Mary, daughters Ann-Marie (Kevin), Siobhan (Brian), sons Sean (Una), Brian (Mary), brothers Gerald and Paddy, sisters Anna, Kathleen, Marie and Geraldine. Adored grandchildren Emma, Liam, Lauren, Conor, Ruairi, Lorcan, Aaron and Rian. Nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Sean will be reposing at Lawlor’s Funeral Home, Ernehill, Belturbet (H14 R583) this Wednesday evening from 5pm until evening prayers at 7pm. He will leave his home on Thursday morning at 10.30am to arrive at St. Mary’s Church, Staghall, Belturbet, for Funeral mass at 11am with burial afterwards in adjoining Cemetery.

Barbara Conlon (née Lennon)

Ballinagh, Cavan / Rush, Dublin

Conlon, Barbara (née Lennon) (Ballinagh, Co. Cavan and formerly of Rush, Co. Dublin) - Jan 21, 2025. Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Declan, brother Brendan, sons Robert and Steven, daughter Jennifer, stepdaughters Sarah and Susan and their partners Michelle, Shane and Jason, grandchildren Lorcan, Noah, Finn, Grace, Mia and James, extended family, nephews, nieces, Cecil and her dear friends.

Hugh Donohoe

Drumhilla, Poles, Cavan

Hugh died peacefully at Cavan General Hospital following a short illness, surrounded by his loving family. Deeply regretted by his heartbroken wife and best friend Brigid, his children Kevin (Monica), Mary (Adrian) and Mark (Michelle), his adoring grandchildren Oisín, Fionn, Senan, Laoise, Éabha, Aoife, Shane and Rían. Lovingly remembered by his sisters Noleen and Susan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Lakeland's Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan, tomorrow, Wednesday, from 5.30pm - 7.30pm until removal to St. Dympna's Church, Lower Lavey (via Drumhilla) arriving at 8.30pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 12 noon, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. House private please.

Felix Harten, Birmingham, England and formerly Carnagh Upper, Kilcogy, Co. Cavan. Sunday 15th December 2024 peacefully at his home in the loving care of his family. Predeceased by his parents Felix and Rose, his beloved son Colin, sisters Kathleen and Eithne and brother Benny.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Elizabeth sons Phelim (Linda), Thomas (Nicola), Dermot (Franchesca), daughter Mary (Andrew), grandchildren Freddy, Felix and Lizabella, brothers Paddy (Carnagh), James (Navan), sisters and brothers in law, nephews, nieces relatives and a large circle of friends.

The death has occurred of Sean (Skippy) McKenna, Cabra View, Kingscourt, Co. Cavan, A82 K162, peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Louth County Hospital, Dundalk, 20th January 2025.

Predeceased by his sisters Angela and Carmel, brother Michael, and his parents. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife Una Brege, daughters Sheila, Clare, and Mairead, brothers Kevin and Noel, sisters Mary, Rita, Bernadette, Lillie, and Barbara, sons-in-law Gerry and Nick, grandchildren Daniel, Cillian, Owen, Shakira, James, and Dylan, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Bridget McPartland (née McGovern)

Killarah, Ballyconnell, Cavan

Bridget died 20th January 2025 in her 93rd year peacefully in Virginia Primary Care Nursing Home. Predeceased by her husband Michael and infant son Michael. Deeply regretted by her loving daughters Bernadette, Patricia, Anne, Catherine, Mary, Martina, Josephine & Carmel, sons-in-law, grandchildren, niece Bridie, relatives and friends.

Reposing at the home of her daughter Carmel and son-in-law Bernard, Killarah (H14D796) on Wednesday from 4-8pm. House private at all other times please. Removal on Thursday arriving at Our Lady of Lourdes church, Ballyconnell for funeral mass at 2pm. Burial afterwards in St. Peter's cemetery, Templeport.

Mary Ellen O'Reilly

Drumacon, Belturbet, Cavan

Mary Ellen died January 17th, 2025, at Cavan General Hospital. Distinguished musician and community activist. Beloved mother of Michael O'Reilly-Powell (Rotterdam). Sister of Eamonn O'Reilly, Belturbet, Aunt of Deirdre O'Reilly M.D. (Burlington, Vermont) and Padraic M O'Reilly (Boston MA). Mary will be sadly missed by her extended family, neighbours, friends and all who knew her.

A private cremation will take place followed by Mary's Funeral Mass, which will be celebrated in St. Mary's Church, Staghall, Belturbet on Friday, January 24th at 2pm, with the burial of ashes afterwards in the family plot in the adjoining cemetery. Rita Smyth Mulligan

Killiney, Dublin / Clones, Monaghan

Rita Smyth Mulligan (Killiney, Co. Dublin, late of Clones, Co. Monaghan) Left us most peacefully on the 20th January 2025 in Blackrock Hospital with her family by her side. Rita beloved wife of the late Peter, loving mother of David, Gary and Derrick. Sadly missed by her sons, daughters-in-law Ekaterina, Pavla and Melissa, her adored grandchildren Victor, Veronica and Max, sister Sheila, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Also remembering her late sister Patricia and her brothers Austin, Dessie and Vincent.

Reposing on Friday, January 24th in Quinn’s of Glasthule from 4pm to 6pm. Ruth Wilson (née Whyte)

Ruth Wilson (nee Whyte) Billis, Glaslough, County Monaghan, died Monday the 20th January peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in the wonderful care of the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda. Dearly loved wife of Cecil and dear sister of Robert, Anna, the late Dorothy and Jimmy and dear sister in law of Eileen and Maurice. Sadly missed by her husband, sister, brother, sister in law, brothers in law, relatives and friends.

Reposing in Clerkin's Funeral Home, Milltown, Monaghan H18 YF22 on Wednesday the 22nd from 3-5pm. Funeral will take place on Thursday the 23rd at 2pm in Ballyalbany Presbyterian Church. Richard (Dick) Kemp

The death has occurred of Richard Kemp, 34 Park Street, Monaghan Town, Co. Monaghan, and formerly Merstham, England, Monday 20th January peacefully in Cavan General Hospital.

Richard is remembered by his daughter Lisa Freeman (Kevin) and son Patrick, his adored grandchildren Jack & Tia, his sisters Janet, Judy, Audrey, twin sister Mary and his many friends.

Richard will repose at Clerkins Funeral Home, Milltown, Monaghan Town, (H18YF22) on Tuesday (21st) from 6pm until 9pm. His funeral procession will arrive to Lakelands crematorium on Wednesday (22nd) at 3pm for cremation.

Phyllis Murphy

Drumleek South, Castleblayney, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Phyllis Murphy Drumleek South, Castleblayney, Co.Monaghan. Sunday January 19th suddenly at her residence. Predeceased recently by her brother Tommy.

Phyllis, deeply regretted and remembered with love by her family, brother Francie and sister Josie extended family, neighbours and friends. Phyllis’ funeral cortège will arrive to St Patrick’s Church Oram on Wednesday January 22nd for funeral mass at 12 noon, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery. House strictly private please.
