All systems go for St Patrick's Festival 2025 in Cavan Town

Fundraisers have been set up and the entire community is been asked to get behind the initiatives and support a very worthy cause.

St Patrick's Day 2025 is set to be a cracker in Cavan Town with a weekend of festivities planned around the celebration of the country’s Patron Saint. Organised by Cavan Chamber of Commerce, the festival takes place from Friday, March 14 to Monday, March 17 with a theme focused on celebrating Irishness through comedy, music, dance, and the arts.

Following on from a year where there was no parade in the county town, the Chamber believes a “vibrant celebration” will be brought back to the community in 2025. “The parade is a significant event for Cavan, boosting local businesses and showcasing the spirit of our town,” the Chamber’s Cian Donohoe said. “However, running such a large-scale event comes with considerable costs, exceeding €15,000.”

So, to help cover the associated costs, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched and the Chamber is currently gearing up to host a fundraising quiz night at the Farnham Arms Hotel on Friday, February 7.

“All support would be invaluable to ensuring the success of this year's St Patrick's Day Festival in Cavan Town,” added Cian. “We believe this event will bring a much-needed boost to our town and create a memorable experience for everyone.”

€360 has already been donated on the GoFundMe page where there is a target of €4,000 to reach.
