The Volkswagen Beetle is one of the most iconic cars in automotive history.

Volkswagen celebrates 75 years in Ireland

2025 marks the 75th year of the Volkswagen brand in Ireland with a range of deals and special offers at Bradys of Arva to celebrate the milestone.

While Volkswagen may be celebrating its birthday, Brady’s will also celebrate 64 years in the family business as a well-established car dealership that has been at the heart of the local community since its inception in 1961.

It was 1950 when the first ever Beetle manufactured outside of Germany was assembled on Shelbourne Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin, marking the brand’s beginning in the Irish market.

Since then, Volkswagen has enjoyed phenomenal success, disrupting the market with each new model and solidifying itself as a part of Irish life and families through many generations.

To commence year-long celebrations of this significant anniversary, Volkswagen Ireland have released special edition trims as part of their 251 model lineup for customers. ‘Edition 75’ trim is available across a range of models, such as Tiguan, Golf, and T-Roc, and a limited edition R-Line trim, ‘R-line 75’ across Polo, Taigo, T- Roc and Tiguan. These bespoke trims offer customers excellent value for money with added specifications and options as standard.

In further celebration of 75 years in Ireland, Volkswagen have launched 251 offers starting from 0% finance across the range in collaboration with Volkswagen Finance Services. Terms and conditions apply.

Available on models such as the iconic Golf through to Ireland’s best-selling electric vehicle, the ID.4 SUV, Volkswagen Ireland is committed to driving continued EV adoption in Ireland and is already preparing for an extremely successful year in the BEV market for 2025.

Speaking on the anniversary, Alan Bateson, Director of Volkswagen Ireland said: “It is a huge privilege to be at the helm of this incredibly iconic and much-loved brand as it celebrates 75 years in Ireland. We look forward to a year of celebrating iconic products, continued market leading innovation and the brilliant people who have contributed to our brand’s success over the last 75 years. As we look to the future we are steadfast in our commitment to driving sustainable mobility for all.

“We look forward to another year of strong demand and growth across both petrol and diesel but also the continued growth of our BEV models with our excellent ID. range, including our all-new ID.7 saloon and tourer, and our best-selling ID.4 SUV. With that, we also look forward to welcoming the all-new Tayron SUV to Ireland in early 2025, which is set to be an exciting new addition to our product line up.”
