Blank canvas for Cavan artist at special showcase
Kim Gaffney is a Cavan based artist who paints wildlife and floral art with oils. She has been selected by the Cavan LEO to exhibit at Showcase for the first time this year.
She is bringing her Nightlife and Circular Art print collection to share with national and international retailers. This collection depicts our captivating native Irish wildlife in the darkness of the night. The animals symbolise strength and beauty. The artist has used a rich colour palette of browns, indigos, and blues to evoke a sense of nature, with golden hues to elevate the subject.
“We rarely see these beautiful animals at night and I love to depict them in nature and moonlight,” she explained.
“The Circular Art Collection provides unique home interior artworks with the circular giclee print drawing the eye in.”
The prints are limited editions of the original oil paintings and are all signed by the artist. This collection is inspired by local wildlife, flora and fauna.
Kim set up her business in 2021, she sells her original art and fine art prints through her website
She has had three solo exhibitions and won scholarships and bursaries through Cavan Arts Office and Creative Cavan. She published her debut art book ‘Orwin and Sebana’ in 2023 and has appeared on RTE’s Nationwide as well as magazines, newspapers and RTE Radio One to tell the story of her journey as an artist.
