Dry and sunny conditions forecast for today

Overall mild and settled with rain possible later this weekend. So says the latest bulletin from the national weather forecaster.

Dry and sunny across most areas today, but cloudier at times near Atlantic and southern counties. Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees with just light to moderate southerly breezes.

Dry with clear spells and just a few mist or fog patches. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 9 degrees in light to moderate southerly breezes.

Tomorrow (Thursday) will be dry with sunny spells for most, but remaining cloudier for parts of the south, west, and northwest. Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees in moderate to fresh southerly winds.

Becoming mostly cloudy for the western half of the country overnight on Thursday, with clear spells further east. Remaining dry outside of the odd spot of drizzle in the west. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees in moderate to fresh southerly winds.

Friday is expected generally dry and cloudy with perhaps the odd spot of drizzle across Atlantic counties. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees in moderate to fresh southerly winds. Continuing mostly dry and cloudy overnight with lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees.

Continuing mostly cloudy and dry on Saturday, with some light rain or drizzle for southern coasts. Some sunny spells are possible, likely in the east. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees with moderate to fresh southeasterly winds.

Outbreaks of rain on Sunday will spread eastwards through the day, clearing to sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees with light to moderate southerly winds.
