Arts 2024 highlights: Ollie Brady

Best event: Soda Blonde at the Cavan arts festival. What a mind-blowingly amazing live act. I was blown away by their energy, songs, sound. Great pop songs performed to a next level standard.

Soft Launch supporting them were also incredible, with Cavan's own Josh McClorey in this band, they're making big waves.

One to watch: Dirty Marmalade. Original act from Cavan with grit, great character and a unique sound.

Best film: Midsommar. An A24 Studios film. Strange, sinister, weird; but kinda good.

Best TV: Norsemen. A tongue in cheek drama/comedy Viking series.

Best book: Live More, Think Less by Pia Callesen. (Metacognitive Therapy). Probably one of the most significant psychology books ever written on how to have good mental health. MCT is backed by lots of recent science and studies. Very easy to do also.

Best music: Diiv - Frog in boiling water (album released June 2024). Post- grunge/showgaze.
