Best County Cavan arts event: JoshiFest in Lizzie Buggies. Fionann that runs Buggies in Ballyconnel has been incredibly supportive over the last few years of locals trying to run alternative music in the venue. Joshifest is a culmination of those efforts.

One to Watch: Dirty Marmalade. I’ve heard some of it and the guys have big plans for 2025....

Best film: Dune Part 2. What needs to be said? Both films are masterpieces.

Best book: To my shame, the only book I finished this year: Strong Female Character by Fern Brady. A fascinating look into undiagnosed autism in creatives. And the effects of poor mental health services on lower income families.

Best TV: The Penguin. The Batman was probably my favourite film the year it came out. Farrell is phenomenal, in the old school crime drama, which just happens to take place in a comic book inspired world.

Best music: Liz Lawrence’s album ‘Peanuts’. As an indie loving millennial, I couldn’t help but identify with tracks such as ‘No Worries If Not’, when this album appeared on my algorithm.
