Arts 2024 highlights: Liz O'Hanlon
Liz O’Hanlon
Arts loving playwright psychotherapist
Best County Cavan arts event: I loved Eoin Mc Evoy’s art exhibition Ascension in Ramor Arts Centre. In 2019 Eoin became the first Irish artist to have their work hung in The Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, as part of the exhibition ‘Long Live Rembrandt’, the most visited exhibition in the history of the museum.
One To Watch: Matthew Taylor (17) a member of Accora Orchestra, current world champions getting ready to go to Austria next May for Worlds again. He has won many Northern Ireland & Ireland Accordion Championships.
Best Music: Absolutely loved Lyra in the Townhall in February, fantastic performer with a powerful positive vibe... Juicy as she would say herself!
Best Theatre: The Hare by Clare Monnelly in March in Ramor Theatre, mesmerizing staging and the wonderful Steve Wickham playing live. A beautiful memory.
Best Film: Small Things Like These, the setting was darker than I expected it to be, having read the book. The film oozed empathy for me and I loved that.
Best Podcast: The Tommy, Hector & Laurita Podcast, it makes me laugh out loud, it’s good for the heart and soul.
