Cold snap set to continue into the weekend
Status yellow low temperature/ ice warning in place until 11am this morning.
Frost is expected to clear through the morning leaving another cold and bright day with sunny spells, according to Met Éireann.
There will be scattered showers too, a few of which may be wintry.
Highest temperatures of 2 to 5 degrees in mostly light to moderate westerly or variable breezes.
It will remain cold tonight with a mix of clear spells and well scattered showers, with the odd wintry one forecast.
Lowest temperatures of -2 to +1 degrees, locally colder where patches of fog and freezing fog develop.
There'll also be widespread frost and some ice forming once again.
Frost and fog will clear through tomorrow morning leaving a mainly dry and bright day with hazy sunny spells and just isolated showers.
During the evening a mix of rain, sleet and snow will spread from the south.
It will be cold day with highest temperatures of just 1 to 4 degrees in light southerly winds.
Tomorrow night will be a wet and cold one with widespread heavy falls of rain, sleet and snow.
Lowest temperatures of -1 to +3 degrees in moderate to fresh and gusty east to northeast winds, stronger in some coastal parts.
Meanwhile Sunday will bring further falls of rain, sleet and some further snowfall accumulations for a time.
It will feel very cold with highest temperatures of 2 to 7 degrees and with the added wind chill from fresh and gusty northerly winds.
Any remaining rain, sleet and snow will clear eastwards on Sunday night, with clear spells following.
Scattered rain, hail, sleet and snow showers will follow too, mainly into the west.
It is predicted to be very cold with some lying snow, widespread frost and ice.
Lowest temperatures of -5 to 0 degrees with the north to northwest winds easing.
