Green light for twenty residential units

The way has been cleared for the construction of a 20-unit residential development near Cavan Town.

It comes after an appeal against the construction of units at Swellan Upper was withdrawn.

Notice of withdrawal was served on An Bord Pleanála at the beginning of last month, with the case file updated just before Christmas.

Cavan County Council granted planning permission to Latt Properties for the development last June.

The scheme includes 16 three-bedroom, two-storey houses; two two-bed, two-storey dwellings, and two more two-bed bungalows.

The proposed development also includes the use of an existing entrance to the site for access to this new estate; new footpaths, both inside and outside the site, the latter of which will link with the existing public paths.

Connections to services, the creation of landscaped communal open spaces, a boundary wall, as well as all ancillary and associated site developments works were also provided for in the planning permission.

Significant further information was received by the local authority during the planning process.
