Wind and rain expected over next few days

The next couple of days are set to become windy with widespread rain expected.

It will be cloudy today, Monday with outbreaks of rain developing. The rain will become persistent in the north and west of the province and may be heavy at times. Some dry periods will emerge in southern and south eastern parts.

Rain will clear in most areas by evening. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees in moderate to fresh and gusty southwest winds, strong near coasts.

It will turn increasingly windy tonight with rain developing. It will become widespread and heavy in parts, extending eastwards later. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees in fresh or strong to near gale and gusty south to southwest winds.

Tomorrow, New Year’s Eve will start out windy with widespread rain clearing to showers. It will become largely dry for the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees in strong to near gale and gusty southwest winds, veering westerly.
